DTFR approvals

We are pleased to share that several of our heavy duty engine oils now hold official DTFR approvals. This confirms that these products are listed on the Mercedes-Benz Trucks BeVo portal as approved for the relevant Daimler Truck specifications.

What is DTFR?
DTFR is the Daimler Truck naming for engine oil specifications used on Mercedes-Benz Trucks. The familiar MB codes were renamed after the Daimler Truck separation. For example:

  • MB 228.51 is now DTFR 15C110
  • MB 228.31 is now DTFR 15C100

No change to the oil itself
This is an approval update, not a formula change. The products remain the same. Labels and technical texts may be updated to show the DTFR code, but there is no technical modification to the oil.

Why it matters
DTFR 15C110 covers low-SAPS heavy duty engine oils designed for modern engines with aftertreatment systems such as DPF and SCR. DTFR 15C100 covers mid-SAPS heavy duty engine oils for a wide range of applications. The approvals support the correct use of our oils in Mercedes-Benz Trucks where these specifications are required.

Verification
Only products listed on the official BeVo portal are “approved.” You can verify approvals by checking the BeVo list for the exact product name and viscosity grade.
